Kristen Thomsen

Pianist, Harpist, Accompanist & Teacher

Kristen Thomsen maintains a private piano teaching studio and is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and Steinway Educators Partnership.

Kristen has accompanied at a variety of events including Brahms Allegro, the OFMC Junior Music Festival and the Junior Music Festival Honors Program hosted at Kent State University’s Ludwig Auditorium.

She is mentored by Karen Burgman, faculty member of the Credo chamber music program hosted at Oberlin Conservatory and recognized music educator, collaborative performer and chamber musician.

Kristen began studying piano at the age of six and continued her studies privately through college. She began teaching piano in 2007 and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2010. She also received the Arnold Fletcher Award for exceptional achievement in independent learning.

Kristen had the privilege of studying harp with Anne-Marguerite Michaud of the Pittsburgh and Baltimore orchestras. Kristen performed with the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Harp Society at the Carnegie Museum. She released “Looking Upwards”, a solo harp recording, in December 2016.
